The Parish Nurses would like to invite members of the congregation to a Prayer Shawl Ministry organizational meeting on Wednesday, May 20, 6:30 p.m.
What is a Prayer Shawl? A Prayer Shawl is a gift that may be knit, crocheted or woven and may sometimes be referred to as a Comfort Shawl, Peace Shawl, etc. The shawl maker begins with prayers and blessings and when it is finished, it is presented to someone as a visible expression of care, concern and God’s love. A Prayer Shawl is given as a gift of love, a gift of healing, a gift of encouragement, a gift of prayer.
We are looking for people to knit, crochet, teach and learn, and wanting fellowship and prayer. Also patterns, yarn and needle sizes will be discussed at our first meeting.
