About

We are a church of ordinary people following an extraordinary God. We believe in shaking hands, building friendships, and visiting with one another. We celebrate God's victories together. We seek God's will together. We do God's work together. We discover together what matters most.

In a world often filled with challenges, it may be difficult to have a clear vision of what matters most in life. While we're all faced with situations we sometimes can't make sense of, we're certain about one thing: Jesus is the answer.

At Redeemer Lutheran Church, we invite all people to become students, believers and followers in Jesus Christ. We are committed to learn about him, be like him, and be loved by him. But that's not all...we are also about helping people, nurturing children, and being part of a caring community.

You are invited to join us in worship and fellowship.

History

Redeemer Lutheran Church was formed by the merger in 1966 of Sion and Trinity Congregations of Marquette, both members of the Lutheran Church -- Missouri Synod.  Trinity Lutheran Church, the oldest Lutheran congregation in Marquette, was organized in 1876, and the Ridge Street church was dedicated in 1900.  Sion Lutheran Church, organized in 1898 as the Marquette Finnish Evangelical Lutheran Church, held services in the church at 227 West Bluff Street which was dedicated in 1912.  The two congregations merged to worship in the facilities of Redeemer, dedicated to the glory of God as a place where His Word may be proclaimed faithfully, where people may be brought to faith and where God's people may be empowered for His work.
